Its been an interesting month to say the least,  after specifically participating in Movember. More-so the experience taught me something about fundraising and charity work which is something that I would like to move into, in the future.

First and foremost, it is important to reflect on the fact that the fundraising in on itself was a really fun experience.  To share my passion for charitable works and my artwork with friends, family and co-workers is a great way to create a stronger rapport with those closest to me.  For me personally its really meaningful work.

I thought at the time that organizing something smaller would be a good learning experience. In particular with creating a fundraiser and the aspects of organizing how to fundraise an event. In this particular instance, it was pretty amazing to be recognized by the organizers of the Movember Foundation Shannon Nix. And also on the London Arts Council Twitter Page.

Something else that I did do in fundraising for this event was that I reached out to the London Free Press, the Londoner and even a local radio station hoping to draw more attention towards the Movember Foundation. I did not hear back from these locations, but I like to believe that if the fundraiser was bigger, that they might have responded then.

Like I mentioned, the whole aspect of participating in this charitable event was a real learning experience. There is no doubt in my mind that i will be organizing another fundraiser in the near future, I am hoping that being a local artist who wants to raise money to contribute to meaningful causes will be something worth talking about and sharing.

All in all, this was a good experience. I am happy with even the amount that was made and the money made towards something that I do care about.

Till next time. :)
