This should hopefully be the first of a series of paintings based off of the idea of inverting the colors off of interesting compositions. In this case, its taking the night-time landscape and inverting it so that the lightest area's are black and the blackest area's are white.
The more that one tends to really look at and even think about landscapes, images, and ideas like this. One tends to appreciate texture and color and even the general warmth of an image in a completely different point of view.
In its own very unique way, these kinds of images in paintings has a character, charm and its own very unique life to it.
This Painting is 20" (inches) by 48" (inches) so its very close to a 2 foot by 4 foot painting.
This painting was done completely in oils.
Surprisingly so, its also a very light painting and can even hang on a thumbtack if necessary.
