Its always funny that when I stop trying to create a specific painting and just let loose what can come out, in a very fluid but also in a very dynamic way as well. This painting came out really nicely and has a real presence to it which can bring any room, study or office to life. Especially with Lady Iustitia or better known as Lady Justice in an almost vulnerable state in the corner of the painting.
Sometimes Justice can be vulnerable, it takes strength and integrity to protect and persevere. This is sort of what I wanted to create in this painting, what could be considered a powerful icon in a stark contrast to the utter surety of the characters normal demeanor.
In this painting, I wanted to evoke a powerful emotion and in a way I like to think I have been successful in doing so. So while this painting is a study of character, form and technique as the artist I am very happy with how it turned out and am happy to see it go to an owner that will love it and adore it for years to come.
This painting was done on a 12" by 24" gallery wrapped, (1" depth) stretched canvas.
